Overview
For higher security applications, we offer optional taggants which can be used in conjunction with stock and custom holograms or custom security labels.
A hologram provides visible anti-counterfeiting protection; the taggants are hidden and invisible to the naked eye. They can only be detected by hand-held devices.
Taggants are microscopic particles mixed with inks to create unique features which provide another layer of security.
Our stock taggant formula has two layers of detection:
The REVEAL taggant detector will illiminate a green light to confirm the presence of the taggants. Since the REVEAL detector shows the presence of the taggants in all lighting conditions, it is the preferred method of verification.

An Infra-Red (IR) Light, which is invisible to the naked eye, will show as a visible green dot. Viewing is primarily intended for normal room lighting; visibility is better in low-light conditions.
Invisible IR light (980 nm) will glow green
The taggants can be printed on demand as a flood-coat or specific text or graphics. The taggants can be used with clear or colored inks. The flexibility of printing on demand provides versatility and enhanced security for both small and large quantity projects.
Periodically changing the taggant location or printed text is another method of enhancing security and differentiating authentic products, similar to changing the combination on a padlock.
We also offer the option for custom taggant formulations.
Combining security technologies provides additional protection to combat counterfeiting, diversion, and other supply chain issues.

2) Holograms with Standard Taggants
The standard taggant can be added to any of our stock holograms. Select from any of our stock silver hologram images, sizes, and shapes which are 1 inch or smaller (see Section A1).
There is no minimum order quantity for labels. We will make the exact quantity you need. For larger sizes (more than 1 sq inch) or non-stock sizes and shapes, please call for a quote.

3) Customer-Specific Formulations
The stock taggant formula fluoresces green. As an option we can provide a taggant formula which fluoresces a different color. The different formulations with various IR colors can also be combined to make a unique combination.

a) REVEAL Detector by BrandWatch
The REVEAL detector can detect taggants in all lighting conditions.
This hardware package includes:

b) IR Laser Pens:
The stock taggant will fluoresce green when using a 980nm laser pen. The green fluorescing image can be seen best in low-light conditions.
Currently, NovaVision does not offer the IR laser pens.
However, several on-line stores sell the IR laser pens, which typically cost in the range of $200 to $400 delivered.
