Quick Links: Non Residue

  1. Colored Secure-Guard Security Labels
  2. Plastic-Guard Security Labels
  3. Metallic Secure-Guard Security Labels

Overview

Our non-residue security labels provide both security and the added convenience to avoid leaving (or cleaning up) a sticky adhesive residue.

After application to the surface, these security labels will self destruct when removed, which exposes the hidden message "OPENED VOID" in the label.

Our security labels are designed to show signs of tamper evidence immediately when removed from the applied surface. Unlike many competitive products, there is no waiting period for the tamper evidence feature to become operable.

Our non-residue labels are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Choosing a Non Residue Label....

Stock non residue labels with serial numbers are available for immediate shipment -- these are ideal for RUSH projects.

Stock sizes are avaiable with optional custom imprinted text, logo and serial numbers. Allow 1 week. Optional RUSH service is available.

Custom sizes, shapes and other colors are available. Allow 4 weeks.

NovaVision offers 3 material versions of non-residue security labels.

Choosing the best label version is primarily based on the type of surface where the label will be affixed.

1) Colored Secure-Guard (Red; Blue; Green)

This version is our most popular and most versatile non-residue label for smooth non-porous surfaces.

Recommended Surfaces:

  • Bare metal
  • Glass
  • Painted metal
  • Painted & varnished wood
  • Most smooth plastic
  • Most non-porous surfaces

    Typical Applications:
  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Block Mobile Phone Camera Lens
  • Ballot Boxes
  • Files and Cabinets
  • Metal Aircraft Hatches and Doors
  • Access Panel for Calibration Settings

2) Plastic-Guard (Blue)

Before/After
Removal

This label is best for plastics, textured surfaces (both metal and plastic), porous surfaces and other low energy surfaces.

Recommended Surfaces:

  • Textured and Smooth Plastic
  • Textured Metal
  • Surfaces with Powder Coated Paint
  • Cardboard, Paperboard & Paper

Typical Applications:

  • Interior Plastic Panels & Doors on Aircraft, Boats and Vehicles
  • Plastic Totes
  • Plastic Carrying Cases for Instruments & Equipment
  • Plastic Bags
  • Textured Metal Doors
  • Shipping Cartons
  • Paper Envelopes

NOTE: Due to the high-tack adhesive, if applied to glass, metal, PVC, or other high-energy surfaces, these labels will perform as a conventional security label, which will leave a residue on the surface. Test in an inconspicuous area first.

3) Metallic SecureGuard (Gold)

Before/After
Removal

This version was our initial non-residue label; it is slowly being replaced by the other newer non-residue versions.

It is primarily intended for non-porous surfaces (glass, bare metal, painted metal, etc).

Because this labels contains an aluminum film which is conductive, it may not be suitable for electrical applications.

This product is also affordable if a custom hidden pattern is required for a small order quantity.

We have the ability to use different adhesives on this material, so it can be customized for unique surfaces and applications (extreme temperatures, etc).

Also, some customers prefer the distinctive gold metallic finish.

Limitations of the Non Residue Feature:

After application to the recommended surfaces, the adhesive systems are intended to leave no residue for about 90 days.

In some conditions, the non residue feature may be impaired. In these cases, when removed, the label will show the OPENED VOID message, but the label may leave an adhesive residue on the surface:

a) If the label is applied longer than 90 days, some adhesive residue may remain on the affixed surface.

b) After affixing to the surface, temperatures over 120F or less than 30F may cause the label to leave adhesive residue when removed.

Adhesive residue can be cleaned with a citrus-based household cleaner (Goo-gone, Orange Sol, etc) or iso-propyl alcohol.

We offer free samples of our non-residue security labels for testing and evaluation. We recommend testing prior to ordering to assure the product will meet your needs.
