Security Packing Tape is used to indicate a package was opened or to detect tampering while a shipping carton is in transit or storage.
Pilferage can occur after plain carton sealing tape is slit on a carton seam, then re-sealed with clear packing tape. To the un-trained eye the re-sealing can be difficult to detect prior to signing the bill of lading to accept the goods.
The diagonal lines in our stock security packing tape provide an added visual indicator that the tape was slit to open the package.
After slitting and opening, the diagonal lines are very difficult to re-align and/or there will be a small gap in the tape which will separate the diagonal lines.

FOR ADDED SECURITY
Another option to increase security is to custom print your text or logo on the packing tape. You can incoporporate your custom graphics using the diagonal line pattern or create your own custom graphics.
Security packing tape featured on this page does NOT have a tamper evident release message. For hidden messages such as VOID or OPENED when removed, please see our Tamper Evident Security Tapes.
For shipping cartons, security packing tape is most effective for cartons containing one item (or just a few items) in a carton, which requires the carton to be fully opened to remove the goods, thereby making the successful resealing extremely difficult.
For shipping cartons containing multiple small products (cell phones, jewelry, etc) we also recommend a Pilfer-Guard Seal.
For pallets, apply an outside wrapper or film first. Apply tape from one side to the other. Then apply tape around the pallet on all four sides.
Our Security Packing Tape is compatible with a wide variety of surfaces. However, we recommend all applications be tested before product is shipping. We offer free samples so you can test and verify the tape will meet your specific needs.
