Bolt Security Seals

Bolt security seals are very durable and intended for higher security applications.

Typical Applications:

Shipping containers
Trucks and trailers
Railcar doors
Other high security applications

The bolt is inserted into the barrel locking mechanism, where the metal bolt snaps into place within a metal locking cylinder.

The bolt and metal locking cylinder are encased in plastic, which is designed to show signs of tampering. If attacked with a heat source, the plastic will discolor and/or melt.

Both the bolt and plastic barrel have matching serial numbers.

For added security, we recommend the bolt seal be customized with your custom text or logo by either laser engraving or an imprinted hologram label. The optional hologram labels, which can be imprinted with your company name or logo, is an affordable (and quick) alternative to customize the bolt seals.

The maximum recommended locking diameter (the hole in the hasp) is shown in the specifications. For larger hasp openings, add heavy duty metallic washers (with minimum .4 inch diameter hole) on either end of the bolt seal.

Installation Instructions:

1. If installed vertically, position plastic barrel at the bottom

2. Rotate the plastic barrel and bolt so the serial numbers are aligned on the same side

3. Push the bolt into the plastic barrel until the locking mechanism snaps

4. Pull on the bolt & barrel to confirm the locking mechanism is engaged

5. A bolt cutter is required to remove the bolt seal. Wear safety glasses when removing.
