Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for NovaVision Products

Most of the finished products offered by NovaVision and Thermal Images are "articles" which are exempt from reporting via a Material Safety Data Sheet.  Also, non-hazardous chemicals are exempt from the MSDS requirement.

Therefore, for most of our products, there is no MSDS requirement.

However, in the event there are possible issues with the intended use of our products, these issues are highlighted in our "Product Specifications" or "Intended Use" sections for each specific product.

An MSD Sheet is only required for hazardous chemicals, which are defined by the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS).  A hazardous chemical is defined as any chemical which can cause a physical or health hazard as described in 29CFR 1910.1200(d).

An "article" is defined in paragraph (c) of the HCS as: "a manufactured item other than a fluid or particle;

(i) which is formed to a specific shape or design during manufacture;

(ii) which has end use function(s) dependent in whole or in part upon its shape or design during end use; and

(iii) which under normal conditions of use does not release more than very small quantities, e.g. minute or trace amounts of a hazardous chemical (as determined by paragraph (d) of this section), and does not pose a physical hazard or health risk to employees"

A product meeting the above criteria is exempt from the MSDS requirement.
