Bottles with Lids, Caps, and Stoppers
When choosing a security seal for a bottle, consideration will need to be given to the material of which the bottle is composed, the environment in which the bottle will be stored or used, and the level of security or tamper evidence required. Some seals and labels work better in specific temperature and humidity ranges than others. Some seals leave more residue and evidence of tampering behind, which may useful to indicate that the contents of the bottle may have been compromised. Our non-residue seals and labels leave no reside behind, which may be a benefit in applications that require low or no cleanup after the removal of a seal or label.
The shape of a label to be used on a rounded surface such as a bottle, test tube, or jar should be considered when selecting a seal. Long, narrow labels and seals tend to offer the best fit on rounded surfaces.
Frangible Paper Label Seals
Frangible paper tears easily when removed and is used effectively for security seals in many applications. A torn or broken broken seal indicates tampering. After application, the paper seal can be removed, but it is designed to tear into multiple pieces or delaminate when it is peeled. One key advantage of paper seals is that they can easily be marked using common writing implements such as pens, pencils, and felt-tipped markers, which is not the case with most film-based labels.
Since the paper used in making these seals absorbs moisture, they are recommended only for use indoors, and in low- or no-moisture applications.
Holographic Shrink Sleeves
Shrink sleeves provide a tamper evident seal for bottles, jugs or other container spouts. The sleeve is a hollow tube of clear PVC film which will shrink when heated, and is placed over the cap and neck of a bottle to secure the cap to the bottle. When heat is applied, the sleeve will shrink and conform to the contours of the bottle neck and cap, thereby making it impossible to open the bottle without destroying the sleeve.
A holographic strip provides added security to authenticate the tamper evident seal.
Silver Metallic Security Seals
Our security seals are designed to show signs of tamper evidence immediately if removed after application. Unlike competitive products, there is no waiting period for the tamper evidence feature to become active. When these labels are removed, a hidden pattern or hidden text (depending on which label is used) is exposed in the adhesive as an indicator of tampering.
Because of their long and narrow shape, the barbell shaped security seals are ideal for rounded or irregularly-shaped surfaces.
Our silver metallic products are suitable for use indoors or outdoors.
Non-Residue Labels for Metal and Smooth Plastic
When removed, film shows a previosuly hidden message of "VOID OPENED" but leaves no adhesive residue on the surface. Suitable for indoor or outdoor application. Ideal for use on expensive equipment or products that you want to secure without leaving a messy residue, including:
- Computers
- Servers
- Network and phone patch panels
- Laboratory equipment
- Laboratory glassware
- Electronics
- Evidence
- External computer hard drives
- Metal cabinets
Most effective on the following surfaces:
- Bare metal
- Glass
- Painted metal
- Painted & varnished wood
- Most smooth plastic
- Most non-porous surfaces
- Indoor and outdoor applications
For textured plastics, plastic bags, and powder-coated paint, consider our Plastic-Guard labels.
For finished surfaces, test SecureGuard in an inconspicuous area before committing to use. If the finished surface is not securely bonded to its underlying material, the finish may be removed or damaged when the label is removed. If a SecureGuard label is left applied to a surface for longer than 90 days, a minimal amount of adhesive residue may remain, depending on the surface.
