Aircraft Hatches and Doors
Our most popular security labels for aircraft are SecureGuard security labels, which indicate tampering in the film (VOID OPENED), but leave no adhesive residue when removed. However, if you prefer an adhesive residue to remain on the surface when removed, the STO labels (low residue) or the S28 labels (high residue) are recommended.
Non-Residue Labels for Metal and Smooth Plastic
When removed, film shows a previosuly hidden message of "VOID OPENED" but leaves no adhesive residue on the surface. Suitable for indoor or outdoor application. Ideal for use on expensive equipment or products that you want to secure without leaving a messy residue, including:
- Computers
- Servers
- Network and phone patch panels
- Laboratory equipment
- Laboratory glassware
- Electronics
- Evidence
- External computer hard drives
- Metal cabinets
Most effective on the following surfaces:
- Bare metal
- Glass
- Painted metal
- Painted & varnished wood
- Most smooth plastic
- Most non-porous surfaces
- Indoor and outdoor applications
For textured plastics, plastic bags, and powder-coated paint, consider our Plastic-Guard labels.
For finished surfaces, test SecureGuard in an inconspicuous area before committing to use. If the finished surface is not securely bonded to its underlying material, the finish may be removed or damaged when the label is removed. If a SecureGuard label is left applied to a surface for longer than 90 days, a minimal amount of adhesive residue may remain, depending on the surface.
Non-Residue Labels for Textured Plastic
Our Plastic-Guard labels are recommended for the interior hatches and doors on aircraft which are textured plastic. When removed, film shows "VOID OPENED" but leaves no adhesive residue on the surface.
Plastic-Guard is a good choice for a non-residue security label for use on the following surfaces:
- Aircraft hatches (interior)
- Aircraft doors (interior)
- Powder-coated paint
- Plastic bags
- Plastic carrying cases (HDPE)
Low-Residue Security Seals
Our security seals are designed to show signs of tamper evidence immediately if removed after application. Unlike competitive products, there is no waiting period for the tamper evidence feature to become active. The STO product line leaves a minimal amount of adhesive residue on the surface when removed. This 'low residue' feature minimizes clean up on reusable containers or surfaces.
Low residue security stickers are not recommended for materials with low surface strength, such as recycled cardboard, pressed cardboard, and pallet film. When removed from these surfaces, the adhesive will tear the surface and not activate the tamper evident feature. For these applications, we recommend a high residue security sticker such as our S28 products.
Our STO products feature a premium grade adhesive, and are compatible with most material surfaces, and are suitable for use indoors or outdoors. They can be initially affixed in temperatures as low as +10°F. After affixing, the stickers are suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°F to +200°F.
High-Residue Security Labels
Our S28 security stickers offer enhanced security because the "high residue" tamper evident feature is more sensitive than low- and non-residue labels. Also, the "high residue" feature makes the S28 stickers more versatile and effective on a wide range of surfaces, materials and environmental conditions.
When removed, the security sticker will self-destruct to indicate that the security seal has been broken, and will leave a high amount of adhesive residue on the affixed surface.
Our S28 products feature a premium grade adhesive, and can be used both indoors and outdoors. They can be initially affixed in temperatures as low as +10°F. After affixing, the stickers are suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°F to + 200°F.
The choice of a high-residue label may not be appropriate for reusable containers, since cleanup may be required. The adhesive residue clean up is usually not an issue for disposable packaging. If cleaning up the adhesive residue is an issue, we recommend our STO12 (low residue) products, or our line of Non-Residue Security Stickers.
